A Singaporean guy and a Malaysian guy missed the food from home.

The rest is history.

The one thing we hear many migrants say after living abroad for some time is how much they crave food from back home. Although there is no shortage of multicultural options available, few do it “just like home”. After living in Melbourne for more than ten years, we too find ourselves missing the taste of home, which inspired us to address this very important issue. And thus, Soyyum was born. Purely out of the desire to see and eat food that tastes just like it does when we visit home.

Soy milk and soy products are very common in most parts of Asia and can be found in most eateries and street stalls. But we were surprised to find that there were no permanent options in Melbourne, which gave us the motivation we needed to bring the “taste of home” to Melbourne.

Soyyum aims to bring a traditional product into the 21st century and to give our patrons of all ages and backgrounds a nostalgic experience that will transport them “back home” with every sip and spoonful.

Home-made soy milk with no nasties. We’re on a mission to bring the best from home to Melbourne.
